In 1962, our founder, Mr Huber met an expatriate wife who lamented the lack of European style coffee in Singapore. Inspired by this chance encounter, Mr Huber opened a small business roasting 100% pure gourmet coffee.
When he started producing coffee, he left nothing to chance. Using his experience in commodity trading, he was able to source the finest coffee beans from around the world – Celebes, Bali, New Guinea, Timor, Java and Sumatra.
When he decided on a name for the company, Mr Huber wanted to express the premium nature of his coffee, and being a Swiss national he settled on Boncafé, which is from the French for ‘good coffee’.
Since this humble beginning we’ve always listened to our customers’ opinions.
Which is why today we produce a wide range of gourmet blends and even roast on demand.
